Hours 7.30 am to 4.30 pm Mon-Thurs & 7.30 am to 12.30 pm Friday

Our client is a market leader in their industry, who celebrated 50 years in business this year. They are now a global success and looking for a Design and Development Engineer to join their manufacturing site in Haverhill. An award-winning company that continues to grow through its R&D. This could be an opportunity to join their team as a Design and Development  Engineer of products where you can contribute to their success.

Role Purpose:

The Design & Development Engineer(s) evaluate sales/market project briefs to develop a suitable engineering specification to design ad develop products. With a strong flair for design and engineering skills to develop concepts into marketable solutions.

Main Duties:

  • Design and develop mechanical products as required and be responsible for research, concepts, designs, records, and liaison with suppliers, toolmakers, and production.
  • To produce detailed CAD models for manufacture,
  • To provide clear time plans through the NPI process and maintain deadlines.
  • Coordinate designs with the controls engineering department
  • Co-ordinate testing for new products
  • Obtain and keep up with the testing standards such as BS: EN 60335, EUP Directive lot 6.
  • Identify innovative product solutions for market opportunities
  • Keep abreast of competitors' products and have a good knowledge of SWOT analysis of them.
  • Resolve and support quality issues within the design department.
  • Maintaining momentum with product designs.

Knowledge & Skills:

The Design & Development Engineer should have: (E) Essential (D) Desirable

  • Degree qualified in Engineering/product design (D)
  • Proficient in product design and use of Inventor (E)
  • Knowledge of mechanical ventilation products (E)
  • Project Management skills and a strong drive to achieve.(E)
  • A background in manufacturing (D)
  • Ability to work under pressure (E)
  • Strong attention to detail and proven skills around accuracy.
