Engineering & Maintenance Manager 

Haverhill - Permanent - £40-£50K pa

40 hour week Mon-Fri

This is an extremely well-established ambitious company who are a global leader with more than 50 years to boast, with offices in Haverhill and the USA.  This is a brand new position as Engineering & Maintenance Manager within the organisation, so looking for someone with previous experience and staff management with an HNC/HND in Engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and really make your mark.  Working in the Manufacturing site Haverhill with Head Office based in Colchester. 

Engineering & Maintenance Manager's primary purpose:

  • Lead the tooling production support and maintenance teams to ensure the availability of plant, equipment, and facilities that enable the manufacturing facility to deliver customer orders right the first time and in full.

Core Duties:

The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will have a variety of core duties.

  • Leading the daily activities of the Tooling, Production Support, and Maintenance Teams.
  • Develop and deploy planned maintenance schedules for plant, equipment tooling, and facilities.
  • Evaluate and report the teams working effectiveness through OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Analyse key performance measures.
  • Create an environment for the Tooling, Production Support, and Maintenance teams to thrive.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety.
  • Develop and maintain budgets/annual operations plans for production and facilities.
  • Close liaison with Production Planning, Procurement, Despatch, and any other internal stakeholders and external parties (Contractors) to meet customer demand.
  • Providing reports for Operations Director, senior management, etc.
  • Recruitment and staff development.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • HND/HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • General understanding of business finance, budgets, and CAPEX.
  • Strong background in production engineering or maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and accurate record-keeping.
  • Able to prioritize workloads of self and team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer literate and able to analyse data.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Laws.
