Test Technician - Permanent

Haverhill - £25,000 - £30,000

Mon - Thurs 07.30 to 4.30 pm, Friday 07.30 - 12.30 pm

Our client is a highly successful global organisation who have just celebrated 5 decades in business and is an award-winning company. We are recruiting a Test Technician to be part of their research and development team. As a Test Technician, you'll be working on a specific part of the business and assisting the design and development engineers with the construction of prototype units for testing. There may be some visits to external test facilities in this country and abroad. It's a fast-paced environment so you will need to be flexible and adaptable, with good attention to detail. 

Purpose of a Test Technician

  • Airflow and energy efficiency testing of products using bespoke test rigs.
  • Environmental testing of products using a climate chamber.
  • As Test Technician you will assist Design and Development Engineers with the construction of prototype units for testing.
  • Assist with the External testing of their products, including the preparation of products for despatch to Eternal Tes facilities for Acoustic, Performance, safety, and EMC testing.
  • To design and make jigs, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Assist the R&D Laboratory Supervisor in the ongoing development and improvement of test procedures.
  • Assist the R&D Laboratory Supervisor in maintaining the test facilities and equipment within the R&D Laboratory.
  • Ensure your area is clean and tidy at all times.

Knowledge (E=Essential & D=Desirable)

  • Engineering qualifications and/or relevant engineering experience (E)
  • Previous experience working in a test environment or with electro-mechanical products and assemblies (D)
  • The ability to be able to use engineering workshop equipment/machines necessary to make or modify parts, test equipment, and fixtures (D)
  • Competent in using Microsoft Excel to analyse data and produce graphs. (E)
  • Full Uk driving license (E)
  • The desire and ability to learn new skills including the variety of control systems for products and test equipment control (D)
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written (E)
